Distribute weight sensibly
Books and other heavy items are better in smaller boxes. Light textiles can fill larger boxes without making them unmanageable.
Protect fragile items from movement
Fragile items should be protected individually and packed so they cannot move freely against each other. Fill empty spaces appropriately.
Labels save time at destination
Label at least the destination room and general contents. Notes such as 'fragile' help but do not replace secure packing.
